Hi! My name is Diane Curtis-Knight and I’m an Advanced ADI Grade A (Approved Driving Instructor), who specialises in Vehophobia.

"Diane has completely changed my view of driving she helped me address my anxiety with useful tips and vastly improved my confidence and driving ability. I am now able to take my parents to hospital appointments, taxi for daughter and friends and am now able to drive to visit my best friend. Motorways were a big deal for me and we overcame that too! I can’t recommend Diane enough and as much as I dreaded driving when I started with Diane I very much enjoyed our 90 mins in the car!"

What is Vehophobia?

Vehophobia is the fear of driving. and is a specific phobia.  Sometimes caused by a traumatic experience related to driving, the location or an event that causes anxiety in the victim.  It can be different for each person.  For some it's a fear of motorways, for others it may be bridges, or perhaps close following of other drivers.  For some the traumatic event may have been a collision, witnessing one, or a near miss.  Read more about Venophobia.

Who do I work with?

Anyone who can relate to the experiences above. Anyone who deliberately takes longer routes just to avoid motorways, dual carriageways, open straight roads or even bridges. Anyone who finds themselves cancelling a meeting, making excuses not to go to a family gathering or a friends’ get-together all because the thought of driving there fills you with dread and fear.

The Problem

This is debilitating! It’s inconvenient! It’s exhausting and it’s costing you! It’s affecting your relationships. It’s costing you employment opportunities. It’s costing a fortune in taxi and train fairs. You feel alone and embarrassed.
